On April 27, 2011 a major tornado outbreak struck the state of Alabama, killing hundreds. At this time Aaron Ayers, a middle school student felt that there had to be a better way to educate, inform and warn people of such disasters. So, he set out to find a solution to the issue.
On March 2, 2012 a tornado hit Buckhorn High School. Aaron Ayers, a Freshman at the time, can vividly remember the day. No one was seriously injured or killed, but it was surely a wild ride for all the people on campus that day.

Aaron Ayers, soon to be Founder and President of BHS AMS, was accepted to go on grant to a NOAA CAREES Summer Weather Camp in Jackson, MS. Where he learned more about weather and the atmosphere, than he ever had before. This inspired him to go home and do something similar. He enjoyed sharing what he had learned with others and was fascinated to find out that other people shared his interest.
